Filmet: Closed Pending Final Legal Decision

Since March 31st, I have received nothing but constant PM's from concerned Filmet members and NOTOSCUM supporters regarding the closure of Filmet. True enough, when I tried to open the site I am greeted by this logo which i found unusual. After a few more squints at the monitor, I tried to check Filmet again. Thinking that it's another one of those maintenance days, I shrugged it off as nothing more than just that: Maintenance going on.

But I've soon realized that something was utterly wrong with the site. This is not your usual maintenance. Right below the glorious NBI logo was this paragraph:

THIS WEBSITE IS DECLARED CLOSED PENDING FINAL LEGAL DECISION.

Through filed complaints and vested authority
(People of the Republic of the Philippines vs. Asinas and co. Case No. 0386219B0541E, City of Makati; With court jurisdiction probe of the Judiciary council of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada), the files in this server are hereby confiscated and committed under investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation pending legal action served to owner, administrators and partners in crime by the aggrieved parties.

So I tried to, again, deny the fact that this may be the real deal.  Of course, I wanted to believe that it's merely an April Fools' joke, but after speaking with some people who are directly or indirectly related to this issue, I've soon realized that there might be a bit of a problem.

I would not want to disclose any more details regarding the closure since I'm not exactly sure what the outcome of the investigation would be. Everything is confiscated; Philmu's mods would be more than willing to surrender all the logs from the infamous Tixsell thread that was un-fortunately, locked. (Talk about fairness, neutrality and all that shiznit. TSK.)

But no matter. WE ARE GOING TO CONTINUE THE FIGHT. With or without the mothership, we will continue to invade these scums 'to kingdom come.'

Them, and their engrish dumbtwits. Go figure.

Whether the site has finally ended, our quest for No to pay to play would still continue. Some say that they have gained justice in its closure, but it will never end and we still have this site to declare what we want to fight for. And that is to put a stop onto all of the scum productions. Justice is still within the bands and good productions hand. Some ask what would happen to the cause now that Filipinometal has shutdown, there is no need to worry.

I've seen the NBI logo in FilMet early morning of March 31st... and I still couldn't convince myself there was any case. I know some internet maniacs in my worksplace and considering the fact that the forum has it's own disclaimer, and (to my knowledge after reading the whole thread), there was no UNTRUE statement released by the administrators. Oh, well, we'll find the answer soon.

Isn't it illegal to use the NBI emblem on unofficial matters (even for a prank april fools joke), especially by non-NBI entities?

April 5, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMaykelrikets

Let's say it's illegal, so what are you gonna do about it? What is the NBI gonna do about a kilobyte jpeg image being used without permission? They gonna shut us down? I want to see you try too, go to the NBI and whine about it. Cry baby.

is it illegal to wipe the crap off my ass too?

"Isn't it illegal to use the NBI emblem on unofficial matters (even for a prank april fools joke), especially by non-NBI entities?"

LOL 13th April Fail!

*face palm* Is it illegal to pick my nose? What is legal to anyone of you anyway? illegal list, illegal NBI logo. Filmet pulled off a FBI prank last April Fools, is the owner in jail now? N.O.

I am sure that learning about the internet is not illegal, so please learn a thing or two.

Is replying to your post with sarcasm illegal too? lol
