Samahang Musikero Pilipinas.. STAYS ON THE LIST!
Monday, March 30, 2009 at 4:26PM Sunday morning, around 4am, I received a message from a person who did productions. It said “Samahang Musikero Pilipinas Presents: “Seminaryrocks” (Dedicated to those talkshit people who listed Samahan sa scumlist” (and so goes the list of bands who will be playing including the date and venue.). Then with the bad temper I had that night, I asked him what was it all about and if he were part of the pro scumlist or anti scumlist (just to be sure that I know who I am talking to.) and why would he say talkshit. He then replied to me saying that us Filmet crew did not have any proper investigation before putting them on the list, and addition to that, he said that there was no solid proof of them being a scum. A couple of Text messages was soon exchanged and I have clearly stated to him that if he wanted his so called “organization” off the list, it would be easy, as long as he simply approach us and have the proper manner to deal with the situation. He finally got the idea, and agreed to do that. Then I said, “create an email of an explanation to us, I will have everyone look at it, discuss about it and if proven credible, his production will be taken out of the list just like the others.” So he agreed and at the same time, pushing the issue that his “organization” is not just a small organization but a big one. (And yes, to hell I care.) This production is also the production who wants me to meet them in person, and not through YM chat, so then I agreed to the proposal, and talked to Joy if he can back me up on this.
Monday around 12 midnight, I received another text message from Jay (Samahang Musikero Pilipinas), “Samahang Musikero Pilipinas will send our thoughts tomorrow”. Then I replied, “Sure, that wouldn’t be a problem, send it to filipinometal@gmail.com. You can also visit http://notoscum.org/ so you may have an idea on how we deal with productions who want out of the list.” Then, Jay replies to me, in a very off topic way saying “Hahaha... We’re not a small organization ma’am.” Now I was blank for a couple of seconds, then thought why would he state that again, when I clearly just told him about an email and a site? So then, I couldn’t help myself but reply again saying “I didn’t say anything about your organization, and even so, regardless whether it’s a small or the biggest organization, we should just stick to the main topic.” He then answered back saying “Ah okay, sabagay, Filmet lang kayo. And kami Samahang Musikero Pilipinas. Kaya tawa you.” (or as it was actually “Kya tawa u..”). I don’t even have any idea why he should reply in that kind of manner, in the first place, I wasn’t implying on anything against his so called big organization. I told him to just send the email and I was not implying on anything. I had to really press on that to be sure he got my point.
He then came off throwing messages at me stating “Tampo tuloy banda Filmet. Tinatalk ko lang sila.” I answered “Well, let them be mad, we have our own sights on this matter and we are fighting for it, just like your organization that is probably fighting for something as well. We can never please anybody.” And again, with a text speak reply “Nga poh eh we can never plz everybody poh..nhhrapan us”. So What do they mean about “nahihirapan us”? he said, Kaming officials. Kasi hindi ko makuha point, 100 remit, or bring guest, in exchange for video ng event na ibibigay sa kanila. The only thing to do is, to bring a blank DVD, “dn” (which I don’t have any idea what it stood for) 10 guests, 10 new bands sa gig na yun. “tsk tsk”.
If you are to think of it, its still major signs of scum. It’s written all over it. Ask the new bands to choose whether they remit 100 bucks or to bring guests. When I asked him what if the band agreed to just bring a guest, then what if they couldn’t bring any guests to the gig what will happen to the band, he couldn’t even answer me in a straight answer and even said “kung ako sa kanila, wag na tumuloy.” So I asked him again “What if they really want to play?” “Madami pa naman ibang event na pwede sila tumugtog e.” I was persistent in asking him a question regarding it. I said, “So hindi na pwede tumugtog ang banda? Next event na sila?” And I was successful. It came straight from the horse’s mouth, “YUP! Kasi madaming bands want tumugtog.. Limansinko ang banda sa pinas. Kaya need more gig na cheapest. Dapat kayo madaming gig, not for metal only. YAN ANG ADHIKAIN NG SAMAHANG MUSIKERO”.
My vote: FUCK SMP! They are not off the hook yet. Let them rot.
-How did the conversation end? you may ask. I told him na kahit 20 pesos yan na remit galing sa bulsa ng banda is still exploitation, and sana nakuha nya logic dun. na inexplain ko.
-mamili ka ng remit na 100 or bring guest, pag di mo nagawa either of the 2, you cannot play, just try again on a different event. Still considered as SCUM right?
-He sent me massive text messages about the gig he plans to pull off na against the people behind the scumlist. I did not respond anymore. He sent me another personal message stating "Expect more mam, PARTICULARLY YOU. More gigs and events to come.. Hahahaha"

Eto po yung mga sobra magparemit. SMP. Napaka kapal ng mga mukha ng mga yan. Buti nalang po di kami tumugtog. Meron po isang banda kami kasabay pinagbayad na sila, pinag bring guest pa. Mga bata pa naman yon. Wala na sila pangkain. KAsi nga kelangan pa nila umuwi pacita.

Bakit ba hindi nila maintindihan na mali nga ung pag-reremit? Mas malala pa to kesa pag nag eeducate ka ng real roots ng isang genre eh.. Sana naman ma realize na nila na mali sila. 2. Strategic marketing to promote your event, it will cost you from your said budget.

How to earn for you to get back the money that you spent or double it?
You have an entrance fee.... Depende nalang yan sa usapan nyo ng bar.... Thats all? Stick to it... Invite people as many as you can... for you earn.... You can ask help to your bands on the list just to promote the gig or event, let them invite their own guest para lalong dumami yung tao sa event mo... But please don't put the responsibility to them. Nandyan na nga sila to perform for your event, sila dapat ang binabayaran.... Dahil kinuha mo sila para maplay sa event mo eh. Hindi naman sila lumapit syo at nagmamakaawa para makatugtug.... at sila yung nagbibigay kulay sa event na yun... Regardless kung what type of event or production yan...mapa Metal man yan or mainstream etc... Kung kumita ka makakaulit ka para magproduce, mean to say nagtrabaho ka sa production na ginawa mo. It's your ass is on the line take note of that its your resposibility not the bands... Kung hindi ka kumita problema mo na yun, my pagkukulang ka sa promotion na ginagawa mo... ganun kasimple.... and as for you Totoymetal... Got a lot to learn...
